Benjamin Oliver has had more than forty works performed both internationally and in the UK by soloists, choirs and ensembles including: BBC Symphony Orchestra (Sound and Music commission); London Sinfonietta (Sounds New Festival 2012); Mercury Quartet; Kent County Youth Orchestra and jazz pianist Ivo Neame (Kent Music Commission, 2013); Fabian Mueller (Aldeburgh Festival 2012); Aarhus Sinfonietta (Sounds New Festival 2011); ICP Ensemble (ICP Competition 2010 [prize winner], 2011 [prize winner], 2012); Orkest de Ereprijs (International Young Composers Meeting 2010, The Netherlands); and Ostrava Banda (Ostrava Days Festival 2009, Czech Republic).

Ben was born in 1981 and grew up in Chatham in the UK and completed his DPhil in Composition at the University of Sussex under the supervision of Sam Hayden. Ben is Lecturer in Composition at the University of Southampton and conducts the new music group the Workers Union Ensemble.
